Note!: The videos were shot by my boyfriend, who was standing behind me. :)

I SAW BJÖRK LIVE LAST NIGHT OH MY GOD I'M JUST REALIZING THE MAGNITUDE OF THAT.

Björk is one of my musical idols; she has largely defined my views on music and art in general and has played a big part in defining my musical taste. I had the chance to see her perform live last night, something just months ago I swore would never happen in my life.

HOLY FUCKING GOD GUYS MY HEAD IS STILL REELING AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

The first act was Hot Chip, whom I like and was interested in seeing. They were great, but on the whole, nothing really spectacular. But when Björk followed - oh God. The crew took Hot Chip's equipment away and started hoisting up tribal flags and smaller flags spelling "VOLTA" (I think) and setting up the microphones and bringing in the (multiple) keyboards and the reacTable and I was just getting so excited. And then about 20-30 minutes later Björk's all-female 10-piece brass band (the Wonder-Brass, as she introduced them towards the end of the show) ran in waving at everyone, and everyone around me, and myself, started screaming themselves hoarse. And then the beat of "Earth Intruders" started and Björk came onstage singing and by then I had no idea what to do except scream louder.

And then right after that fucking amazing rendition of that song she played Hunter, which is a completely different song which was performed in an equally mind-blowing manner.

And then came Pagan Poetry, which was the first song by her I heard and the song that bears most of the responsibility for making me into a fan. It was a beautiful rendition of the song and during the bit where she repeats "I love him, I love him" several times completely a cappella, the whole crowd sang along with her. And then came fantastic performances of songs like "Immature" (during which I just stood in the same spot and cried), "Jóga", which blew my head to bits the first time I heard it last year, and "Mother Heroic", a song based on a poem by e.e. cummings which I never thought I would hear due to it being a B-side. And then came Army of Me.

And then after that came "Innocence" (oh my god so incredible) and then "Bachelorette".

And then after "Wanderlust", "Hyper-Ballad" (which turned into an up-tempo house number near the end, so weird) and "Pluto" (which had so much raw energy it almost brought the fucking stage down), came the encore, with "Oceania", turned into a military-anthem-like number and then the last song of the night, "Declare Independence", during which she'd sing "raise your flag!" and the crowd would scream back, "higher! Higher!" until confetti exploded out of the sides of the stage and shot up into the air for several minutes while Björk ran around the stage singing/shrieking.

KDJSALKASJ I WANT TO REWIND THE UNIVERSE AND PLAY THAT HOUR AND A HALF REPEATEDLY FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. PLZ? :(

P.S. Arctic Monkeys were absolutely terrible, and more noise than music. The Killers were good, but by that point I was too tired and sore to honestly be excited about anything.

Here. In my head: tired
I hear in my mind: Björk - "Hunter"
